SASO publishes a separate technical regulation for each equipment or trade category it covers, and a provider has to apply and be assessed against that specific regulation before it can issue certificates under it. The approval isn’t permanent either. Forklift Operator

This program covers the full operator competency standard for powered industrial trucks: pre-operation inspection, load capacity and stability assessment, safe travel with and without loads, pedestrian safety management, LPG/diesel/battery handling, and end-of-shift shutdown procedure. Assessment includes written theory and a practical driving evaluation under examiner observation. Candidates who pass receive a SASO-recognized operator certificate carrying the relevant program reference number.

Classes run in English and Arabic, and the practical portion is done on an actual forklift rather than a simulator, because the standard is testing whether someone can safely handle a real machine, real loads, and real pedestrians in the same space. Group sizes stay small enough that every candidate gets individually observed time behind the controls instead of watching a shared demonstration from the sideline.

Rigger Level 3

Rigger Level 3 is a senior-level rigging qualification covering complex and multi-point lift planning, sling angle calculations and working load limit verification, rigging hardware inspection and rejection criteria, crane hand signals, and coordination of tandem and critical lifts. This is not an entry-level course; candidates are expected to arrive with prior rigging experience before assessment at Level 3. The certificate carries the SASO program reference and is recognized for contractor prequalification on sites that require it.

Because critical lifts leave almost no margin for error, the assessment leans heavily on the practical side: candidates plan and execute lifts using your site’s own rigging hardware and, where available, an actual crane or overhead lifting device, rather than working through a written scenario on paper. An examiner watches the full sequence, from load calculation through hand signals to the final set-down.

Verifying a Certificate Takes Under a Minute

Every certificate PITC KSA issues for the Forklift Operator and Rigger Level 3 programs carries a QR code. To verify one:

1. Scan the QR code printed on the certificate, using any smartphone camera.
2. Open the verification page the QR code takes you to on the PITC KSA site.
3. Enter the certificate holder’s ID number and the certificate number exactly as printed.
4. Read the result: the system confirms whether the certificate is valid, which program it covers, and its expiry date.

HSE auditors and contractor prequalification teams can use this to confirm authenticity without calling PITC directly. If a QR code is damaged or won’t scan, send us the certificate number and we will verify it manually within one working day.

SASO-Approved Training Locations

We do not keep a forklift or a crane sitting idle on a yard waiting for the next course, so we do not run the practical assessment at our own facility.
