THE LIFE-SAVING SKILL

What Is BLS Training?

Basic Life Support (BLS) training equips participants with the skills to recognize cardiac arrest and breathing emergencies, perform high-quality chest compressions (CPR), operate an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. BLS guidelines are set by the American Heart Association (heart.org) and Saudi Heart Association (saudiheart.com).

PITC KSA’s BLS course delivers these skills through live instructor demonstration, hands-on manikin practice, and AED trainer sessions — not slideshow-only theory. Every participant is assessed individually before receiving a certificate.

SCFHS LICENSING REQUIREMENT

Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) requires current BLS certification for all healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, dentists, and paramedics operating in the Kingdom. Certification must be renewed every 2 years.

WHY IT MATTERS

Why BLS Certification Is Essential in Saudi Arabia

From healthcare licensing to industrial compliance — six reasons BLS training is non-negotiable for Saudi employers and professionals.

SCFHS Mandatory for Healthcare Workers

Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS — scfhs.org.sa) requires all licensed healthcare professionals to hold current BLS certification. Expired BLS = license renewal block. PITC KSA provides SCFHS-compatible certification with 2-year validity.

Saudi Aramco & SABIC Site Requirements

Major industrial employers across Jubail, Dammam, Al Khobar, and Al Hasa require first-aid-trained staff on every shift. BLS certification satisfies Saudi Aramco and SABIC HSE pre-qualification requirements — covering Ghawar field, Ras Tanura, Jubail Industrial City, and all Eastern Province sites.

Saudi Labor Law First Aid Obligations

Saudi Labor Law Article 121 requires employers to provide first aid facilities and trained personnel relative to workforce size. BLS certification is the recognized standard for meeting this obligation across industrial, commercial, and construction sectors.

TVTC Accreditation — Government Recognized

PITC KSA’s BLS certification is TVTC-accredited (Technical and Vocational Training Corporation — tvtc.gov.sa), satisfying Saudi government training compliance requirements alongside healthcare and industrial employer demands.

AED Now Required in Public Spaces

Saudi civil defense regulations increasingly require AEDs in malls, airports, industrial facilities, and large offices. BLS-trained staff are needed to operate them correctly. Our course covers full AED operation alongside CPR.

Corporate Liability Reduction

Employers with documented BLS-trained first responders demonstrate duty-of-care compliance. In the event of a workplace cardiac emergency, having trained staff on site reduces both human and legal risk for the organization.

COURSE CURRICULUM

What You Learn in PITC KSA’s BLS Course

One intensive day of hands-on skills — every participant assessed individually before certification. No slideshow-only sessions.

Adult CPR — Hands-On Manikin Practice

Correct hand placement, compression depth (5–6 cm per AHA guidelines — heart.org), compression rate (100–120/min), and full chest recoil. Participants practice until they achieve consistent technique.

AED Operation & Pad Placement

Turning on the AED, attaching pads correctly to adult and child victims, following audio prompts, delivering shocks safely, and resuming CPR immediately. Practiced on AED trainer units — not theory only.

Child & Infant BLS

Age-appropriate CPR depth and rate differences for children (1–8 years) and infants (under 1 year), two-finger vs. two-thumb infant compression technique, and infant rescue breathing per SHA guidelines.

Choking Relief — Adult, Child & Infant

Heimlich maneuver for conscious adults and children, back blows and chest thrusts for infants, and unconscious choking management sequence including CPR initiation when object not removed.

Two-Rescuer BLS Coordination

Coordinated two-person CPR with compressor/ventilator role switching every 2 minutes to maintain compression quality. Critical for industrial site teams where multiple responders may be present.

Recognition & Activation

Recognizing cardiac arrest vs. respiratory arrest vs. unconsciousness. Emergency services activation in Saudi Arabia (911), scene safety assessment, and bystander direction techniques for effective team response.
